What's included in the process for the Wills?

Well, what's included within the price will be obviously the meeting to fully establish exactly what it is you have and exactly what you want to do and where you want it to go.

Very importantly, where you don't want it to go.

It includes all that, checking of all of that, supplying of that when the Will is posted out to you, recorded delivery first class. When we get it back, we will check everything. We check the signatures. We check the dates on everything.

Particularly for Lasting Power of Attorneys (LPA), there's a lot of signatures on those documents. They have to be signed in the right places. They have to be dated in the right sequence, witnessed and so on.

If you don't actually do the checking correctly with Lasting Power of Attorneys (LPA), for example, you could end up potentially having to pay the registration fee to the Office of the Public Guardian twice.

So what we will do is check to make sure all of those things are correct.

You will also get copies of everything signed and we will obviously send it off for secure storage for the Will. A lifetime secure storage it doesn't cost anything more for that. And like I said, we will post the documents for the Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) directly to the Office of the Public Guardian also.

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens if I die without a Will?

If you pass away without a Will, your estate will be distributed according to the laws of intestacy, which may not reflect your wishes. This can lead to delays, family disputes, and unintended outcomes, such as loved ones being excluded. Alternatively, your estate could end up on the hands of the government.

How can I ensure my children are cared for if I pass away?

You can name guardians in your will to care for your children if you die while they are under 18. This ensures your wishes are clear and legally binding.

Can I leave money to charity in my Will?

Absolutely. Leaving a charitable donation in your Will can be a meaningful legacy and may reduce inheritance tax on your estate.

We are proud supporters of Remember a Charity.

What happens if my executor dies before me?

If your chosen executor dies or is unable to act, the responsibility may fall to an alternative executor named in your Will. It’s wise to name a backup executor for such situations.
